February’s Photo Quote
When I am out searching, I never have a set idea of what it is I'm looking for. i simply seek, occasionally finding exactly what it was i wasn't seeking. ~ Jeff T Alu
February’s Vision Quote
If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life you ought to be living is the one you are living. Wherever you are -- if you are following your bliss, you are enjoying that refreshment, that life within you, all the time. ~ Joseph Campbell
Very nice lines and shape as well as the vivid colors in light and shadow with this tulip portrait. A plucked tulip taken against a black background, perhaps? Lovely.
No, Anna, no studio work for me or my tulips. A tulip planted firmly in the earth at a nearby botanical gardens, near sunset with shallow DOF. (I think how that’s how it happened. Background was dark, grassy.)
Once again you have interesting and eye catching use of shadows. Very nicely done. I also enjoyed your one line poem on the tulip’s choreographic gyrations.
I’m glad the tulip is still grounded. They seem to have a short enough shelf life while attached to the ground and a shorter shelf life when in a vase.
beautiful. i love how the flower is so striking against the black background.
I first caught sight of this shot on your flickr page and I’ll just say the first thought that popped into my head. WOW!
Pretty, like the dark background:)
good use of negative space. it reminded me of man ray, though his stuff isn’t really similar. bold shapes maybe?
You went and made pure art again.
Brilliant colors.
