A blue lupine, so much detail to see in a flower when you stop and really look. I didn’t know blue lupines had all those sumptious shades of purplish blues. I didn’t know they had rows and rows of tiny blossoms, twisting up and down the stem. Photographed in late June is North Cascades National Park in Washington state.
It looks as if you twisted the stem like a rubber band and then let go. Very nic.
No flowers were hurt in the making of this photograph!
And I promise it didn’t twist, just took advantage of what grows naturally!

I agree with Grace–they DO look like teeny sweet peas. And now I understand how come they are called “blue bonnets” –that’s also what they look like. What a lovely, rich photograph!
